Is the hiss safe? — Yes, by design. The can releases harmless compressed gas: no shock, no scent, no citronella, nothing that touches the dog. The sound is the entire event, and it is aimed away from the dog every single time.

Will it frighten my dog? — It will surprise a confident dog, which is the point, and the surprise fades the moment the treat appears. It is the wrong tool for anxious or nervous dogs — for them, see the note on keeping it holstered, and see a professional.

Can I use it on my puppy? — No. The maker is explicit: not for puppies. Young dogs get management and patience, not surprises.

Does it work on cats? — The can is a dog trainer. Cats, ironically, already speak fluent hiss and are largely unimpressed by amateurs.

How many uses per can? — Roughly one short burst per milliliter: about fifty from the 50 mL, about two hundred from the 200 mL. Owners who use it correctly report the can outliving the problem by a comfortable margin.
