What the water keeps

A pond holds surprisingly little, and so do we. This site runs without accounts, without sign-up forms and without a checkout — so the personal data we could collect from you rounds to almost nothing.

What does reach us: the ordinary, anonymous ripples any website sees — aggregate visit counts, roughly which pages get read, roughly which country the reader stood in. We use it to decide which notes to write next, and for nothing else. It is never sold, rented, traded or decorated with your name, because we never learn your name.

What never reaches us: payment details, addresses, order histories. Every purchase begins and ends on Amazon, inside your own Amazon account, under Amazon's own privacy policy — we are the signpost on the bank, not the till.

If you write to [email protected], your email address is used to answer you and then left in peace. No lists, no newsletters you did not ask for, no third act.

Links out to Amazon carry an affiliate tag so the pond gets its small commission — the tag identifies this site, not you. It carries no personal information anywhere.
